How To Write Blogs For Infinite Possibilities

Thank you for taking the time to write for Infinite Possibilities (IP). Your work and blog play an important role in encouraging other students to learn and discover mathematics and to get a better understanding of how math is connected to all aspects of our lives.

Here are a few guidelines to help you get started:

  • Your post should be original and must have never been published before on the Internet.

  • If you wish to post a previously published article on our blog, you’ll need to email us a link to the original post and provide us with written confirmation that the original author(s) of the blog post has signed off on the republication of their post on our site.

  • There is no minimum length, but we recommend shooting for 500-700 words in order to provide decent depth and detail.

  • Your post should be written in a friendly, conversational voice and tone to present the material in an approachable manner.

  • You may use various research materials, including books, peer-reviewed journals, multimedia, and library databases. Please cite your sources.

  • You must either hold all original copyrights to the materials you submit or have obtained written permission from the copyright owner to make these materials available on our site.

  • You agree not to write anything that may be intentionally damaging or misleading about IP or other institutions, people, or businesses. You agree not to use the blog to promote or endorse commercial products or services for which you will be compensated.

  • Once you submit a post, the IP team will edit your blog as necessary for style and grammar and request any additional information or research from you that may be necessary to polish and round out the article.

  • You understand and agree that IP reserves the right to edit or remove any statements that are plagiarized, graphic, defamatory or illegal, or which promote unethical behavior or practices, are culturally or racially inappropriate or insensitive, or which violate the privacy of others.

  • To the extent permitted under applicable law, you grant IP a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty- free right to display, reproduce, disseminate, modify, archive and use your submitted materials for any purpose determined by the IP team, including promotions. This permission includes the use of all traditional, digital and electronic media. You also grant the IP team the right to associate your name, image and biographical data with your submitted content.

  • You release and forever discharge the IP team from all and any claims arising out of or in connection with the use of your submitted material, including but not limited to, any claims for invasion of privacy or defamation.

  • You agree to credit and link to IP if you republish your blog post, in whole or in part, in any format.
